Thai Consul-General Attends Makha Bucha Day Ceremonies and Fosters Community Ties in Chicago

On March 1, 2026, Consul-General Bacharee Puengpak, together with Consul Wanna Somsuk, Ms. Anoma Wongyai, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chicago Office, and Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of the Thai Trade Center-Chicago, and staff members, attended the merit-making ceremony in observance of Makha Bucha Day at Wat Dhammaram in Chicago.
On this occasion, the Consul-General, together with officials and members of the Thai community in Chicago and nearby areas, participated in alms-giving and merit-making activities. The Consul-General also took the opportunity to introduce herself and meet with members of the Thai community to foster closer ties and further strengthen relations. Later, the Consul-General and her delegation visited Wat Pa Chicago to pay respects to the Abbot of Wat Pa Chicago, and formally introduced herself on the occasion of assuming her duties as Consul-General.
