On February 28th, 2026 Consul-General Bacharee Puengpak, along with Consul Urasee Thiratangsathira Jeong and Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chicago Office, Ms. Anoma Vongyai attended the 43rd annual gathering of Asian American Coalition of Chicago (AACC) at Marriott Marquis Chicago Hotel, IL.

AACC is an organization of diverse ethnic communities aimed to promote cross-cultural understanding and bring Asian American together, established in 1983. The host of 43rd AACC event in 2026 is the Chinese American Community.

On this occasion, the Exemplary Community Service Awards and the Youth Who Excels Awards were presented to individuals from various member communities who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in community activities or public service.

Specifically for Thailand, Mr. James Limson received the Exemplary Community Service Award, and Miss Prisara Chum sangsri received the Youth Who Excels Award. On this occasion, Dr. Manjeet Singh Chawla was also awarded the Pan Asian American Ping Tom Memorial Award to recognize his decades of compassionate healthcare services and generosity to underserved communities in Chicago and South East Asia.
