The visit took place under the Thailand Global Talent & Quantum Innovation Network initiative, with the objective of exploring cooperation in higher education, science, research, and innovation, as well as strengthening collaborative networks among Thai institutions, Thai researchers, and international partners in quantum technology. Particular attention was paid to the State of Illinois, which is recognized as a leading hub for quantum technology in the United States.
On the first day, a discussion session was held at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago to exchange views on the future of quantum technology research and development and to strengthen networks among Thai researchers and strategic partners in Illinois. Thai and international students from leading universities in Illinois and nearby areas also participated in the discussion.
On the following day, the Deputy Consul-General, the Minister Counsellor, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worawat joined a Thailand–Illinois meeting to discuss potential cooperation in the quantum industry and research. Leading quantum technology organizations in Illinois participated in the meeting, including qBraid, IBM Quantum, and the National Quantum Algorithm Center (NQAC). Meanwhile, representatives from Thailand, including Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), joined the meeting virtually.
Following the meeting, the Team Thailand delegation and QTRic visited Portal Innovations Fulton labs and Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Chicago to learn more about innovation hubs and research laboratories in Chicago.
