On March 7, 2026, Ms. Bacharee Puengpak, Consul-General of Thailand in Chicago, together with officials from Team Thailand in Chicago, attended a Khon performance from the epic Ramakien, episode “Building the Bridge to Lanka,” at the Daniel Goodwin Hall of Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Nitirut Chumsangsri, President of the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago (TCFAI) and Chair of the organizing committee, delivered the welcome remarks. Consul-General Bacharee Puengpak then delivered congratulatory remarks before the audience enjoyed the Khon performance presented by teachers, parents, and students from TCFAI. The rehearsal of the performance was guided by instructors from the Office of Performing Arts, Fine Arts Department of Thailand who also presented a Khon demonstration during the event. On the same occasion, the Consul-General presented the sponsorship money from the Consulate-General to support the TCFAI in organizing the performance.
