Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul General, Mrs. Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Deputy Consul General, Mrs. Urasee Thiratangsathira Jeong, Consul, Mr. Noppharut Baonongbau, Deputy Consul, together with Ms. Anoma Vongyai, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chicago Office, Mrs. Sirima Yuviengjaya, Deputy Director of TAT, Chicago Office and staff participated in the Kathina ceremony at the Wat Buddha Dhamma, Willowbrook, Illinois.
The ceremony was presided over by Phra Rajadhammavedhi, the Abbot of Wat Buddha Dhamma, and the Kathina main contributors are the Sirivejpanich Family and the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute (TCFAI) (led by Mr. Nitirut Chumsangsri, President of TCFAI). During the ceremony, the Consul General participated with attendees, both Thais and friends of Thailand, in the Kathina procession, and gave a short remark to show appreciation for Thai communities in Illinois and nearby for the success of the Kathina ceremony in preserving Thai culture and upholding Buddhism.
