The Royal Thai Consulate General in Chicago can issue visa to the passport holder of the above-mentioned countries, provided that the applicant obtains a residence in the United States of America and submits the following documents :
Single Entry Tourist Visa
• Your actual Passport or Travel Document.
(Passport or Travel Document must not expire within 6 months and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page) - include a copy of "picture-page" of the passport.
• Visa application form [ Download ]
(completed and signed by the applicant. Parents can sign for the minor).
• One photos (Passport photo, 2” x 2”, color, front-view, taken within 6 months, and write your name and last name on the back of each photo).
• One copy of U.S. green card or U.S. visa which permits applicant to reside legally in the U.S.
• One copy of airline ticket or itinerary showing flights into and out of Thailand.
• One copy of applicant’s recent bank statement or evidence of adequate finance.
(reflect at least $700 per person, $1,500 per family) The name of the applicant must be indicated clearly), In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.
*If the applicant does not have his/her own bank statement, please submit the Affidavit of Support with the bank statement of the person who supports the applicant.
*If using Online Bank Statement, it must show applicant's name and balance.
Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV)
• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV).
• Your actual Passport or Travel Document.
(Passport or Travel Document must not expire within 6 months and contain at least ONE completely empty visa page) - include a copy of "picture-page" of the passport.
• Visa application form [ Download ] (all sections must be completed including proposed address in Thailand).
• One passport photos (2” x 2”) color, front-view, taken within 6 months.
• One copy of U.S. permanent resident alien card or a copy of valid US visa with employment verification/ letter proof of full-time student status.
• One copy of airline tickets or itinerary showing confirmed flights - tickets should show multiple entries.
• One copy of applicant’s recent bank statement or evidence of adequate finance (minimum of US$2,000). The name of the applicant must be indicated clearly), In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.
• Employment Verification Letter.
• Copy of hotel reservation.
• Fee is $200.00 |

Passport holders from the countries below are required to submit the additional documents :
*Applicants using passports from: Afghanistan, Algerian, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Central African Republic, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guina, Ghana, Guinea, India, Iraq, Iran, Liberia, North Korea, Lebanon, Libya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen are required to submit additional documents. (Please call Visa Section at 312-664-3129 ext. 108). Processing time is a minimum of two weeks. |
