On September 1st, 2022, Deputy Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai met Ms. Tanya Zastrow, Executive Director of Olbrich Botanical Gardens, and visited the Thai Pavilion inside of Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin.
Olbrich Botanical Gardens is a renowned botanical garden in Wisconsin but is also home to the Thai Pavilion, built by the Thai government and supported by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Thai alumni association and its members. The Thai Pavilion was gifted as a symbol of friendship and bond between Thailand and the U.S. since 2001.
At present, Olbrich Botanical Gardens has partnered up with the City of Madison, with a plan to restore the aforementioned Thai pavilion to elevate its durability, elegance, and beauty for it to reside within the garden and the City of Madison for years to come. It is also within plans to expand the cooperation between Olbrich Botanical Gardens and the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Chicago, to host different events in the future.
