On July 11, 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, and Consul General Katanawadee Kalayanamit, together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago, met the Thai community and local entrepreneurs at the Silk Elephant restaurant in Ankeny, Iowa. The visit aimed to strengthen community ties, provide updates on consular services, and promote people to people relationship between Thai Community and Friends of Thailand.

On this occasion, the Ambassador and Consul General also visited IV Nutrition Clinic, a health service provider, operated by Mrs. Suthiphon Boonyothayan, a Thai entrepreneur and President of the Thai Association of Iowa.
