On April 10, 2025, Consul-General Katanawadee Kalayanamit and Deputy Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, along with staff members, attended the Songkran Festival hosted by the Thai Student Association (ThaiSA) at the event center, College of Nursing, University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), Illinois.
 
The celebration featured an introduction to the history and cultural significance of Songkran in Thailand, followed by vibrant performances of traditional Thai music and dance. Guests also enjoyed a variety of Thai cuisine. As part of the festivities, attendees participated in the traditional water pouring ceremony and received blessings from the Consul-General, Deputy Consul-General, and faculty members of the College of Nursing. The event was primarily supported by the Royal Thai Consulate-General as part of the “Enhancing Thai Student Activities in the Midwest 2025” initiative.
