On April 13, 2025, Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul General, and officials from the Royal Thai Consulate-General participated in a merit-making and alms-giving ceremony to celebrate the Thailand’s New Year together with the Thai community at Wat Dhammaram in Chicago. They listened to Buddhist chanting by monks, offered lunch to the monastic community, and took group photos together.

In the afternoon, the Consul General joined the Buddha Sihingha procession, listened to a Dhamma sermon, performed the ceremonial bathing Buddha Statues, and poured water over the elders’ hands to receive blessings in honor of the National Elderly Day.
