Khon performance at Wat Buddha-Dhamma in Chicago

On June 29th, 2024, the Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Consul-General Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, along with officials from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago and the Thai Trade Center in Chicago, attended the Khon performance to celebrate the 38th anniversary of Wat Buddha-Dhamma at Wat Buddha-Dhamma in Chicago.
 
At the opening ceremony, Mrs. Suchitra Surapiboonchai, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Wat Buddha-Dhamma, delivered opening remarks, followed by congratulatory remarks from the Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, Consul-General Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, and Ms. Maria Pappas, Cook County Treasurer. The attendees then enjoyed a performance by teachers and students from the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago (TCFAI) and expert Khon performers from the Office of Performing Arts, Fine Arts Department of Thailand.
 
The Royal Thai Consulate-General extends its congratulations on the successful and well-received Khon performance in celebration of the 38th anniversary of Wat Buddha-Dhamma.
