On November 2, 2024, Consul-General Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Deputy Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai and spouse, Consul Urasee Thiratangsathira JEONG and spouse, together with staff members, attended the "Loy Krathong Day" celebration at Wat Dhammaram in Chicago.

 

The event included merit-making and alms-offering rituals to the monks in the morning, followed by a charity food sale and traditional Thai dance and music performances by students from Wat Dhammaram in the afternoon. The celebration also featured the 2024 beauty contest, in which Ms. Khanithada Johnson, supported by the Thai American Association of Illinois, received the Miss Noppamas award and Miss Popularity award. The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago congratulates all the award winners and expresses gratitude to the Thai community in Chicago and nearby for their ongoing support and promotion of Thai culture.
