On October 31, 2024, Consul-General Katanawadee Kalayanamit and Deputy Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai accompanied Thai Higher Education Administrators on a visit to the Center for the Art of East Asia and the Smart Museum of Art at The University of Chicago. This visit was co-organized by the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok and the University of Alabama, aimed at fostering new academic partnerships and strengthening relationships between Thai higher education institutions and their U.S. counterparts.
The delegation was received by Ms. Ellen Larson, Associate Director of the Center for the Art of East Asia, and Ms. Galina Mardilovich, Curator of the Smart Museum of Art. During their meeting, they discussed various topics including the museum’s teaching and research initiatives, exhibition curation, technological advancements, and potential collaborations. Additionally, the parties explored opportunities to expand partnerships between the two countries.
