เมื่อวันที่ 15 พฤษภาคม 2569 นางสาวบาจรีย์ พึ่งพักตร์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครชิคาโก ได้เยือน Minnesota State Capitol เพื่อเข้าพบและแนะนำตัวกับสมาชิกสำคัญบางท่านของสภานิติบัญญัติรัฐมินนิโซตา ซึ่งมีบทบาทอย่างแข็งขันกับชุมชนเอเชียแปซิฟิก ได้แก่ ส.ว. Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger ส.ว. Mark Koran ส.ว. Susan Pha ส.ว. Eric Pratt และ ส.ส. Xp Lee โดยฝ่ายไทยประกอบด้วยนายวรพล เจนสวัสดิชัย รองกงสุลใหญ่ และนายดี โนรี ประธานกรรมการบริหารวัดพรหมวชิรญาณ และยังมีผู้นำและสมาชิกสำคัญจากชุมชนม้งหลายท่าน
เข้าร่วมด้วย รวมถึงนาย Wayne Thao Saykao ประธาน Hmong Committee of 100

การหารือมุ่งเน้นการเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีไทย–สหรัฐฯ และเน้นย้ำถึงความสัมพันธ์อันใกล้ชิดระหว่างชุมชนไทย ม้ง และอเมริกัน ตลอดจนโอกาสสำหรับความร่วมมือเพิ่มเติมในรัฐมินนิโซตา นอกจากนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯได้เรียนเชิญสมาชิกสภานิติบัญญัติให้มาร่วมสัมผัสประสบการณ์เทศกาลปีใหม่ไทยในงาน Minnesota Songkran Festival 2026 ซึ่งจะจัดที่วัดพรหมวชิรญาณในช่วงสุดสัปดาห์ที่ 16–17 พฤษภาคม 2569

ต่อมาในวันเดียวกัน กงสุลใหญ่ฯ และคณะได้เยือน HmongTown Marketplace และศูนย์การค้าแห่งใหม่ Pan Asian Center โดยได้พบกับนักธุรกิจชาวม้ง Toua Xiong ซึ่งได้อธิบายแผนการจัดตั้งศูนย์รวมแหล่งช้อปปิ้ง ร้านอาหาร ความบันเทิง และสถานที่จัดงาน บนพื้นที่มากกว่า 240,000 ตารางเมตร และได้หารือกันเกี่ยวกับโอกาสทางการค้าสำหรับสินค้าและธุรกิจไทย

นอกจากนี้ ระหว่างการเดินทางเยือนรัฐ Minnesota ครั้งนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้พบกับนักเรียน อาจารย์ และนักวิจัยไทยที่ University of Minnesota เพื่อรับทราบข้อมูลการศึกษาและความเป็นอยู่ รวมทั้งได้หารือ
แนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างสถานกงสุลใหญ่ นักเรียนไทย และชุมชนไทยในรัฐมินนิโซตาด้วย

On 15 May 2026, Consul-General Bacharee Puengpak visited the Minnesota State Capitol for an introductory meeting with some key members of the Minnesota Legislature who were actively engaged with the Asia Pacific community including Senators Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger, Mark Koran, Susan Pha, Eric Pratt and Representative Xp Lee. Also in attendance on the Thai side were Deputy Consul-General Varapol Chensavasdijai and Mr. Dee Noree, President of Wat Promwachirayan. The meeting was also joined by several prominent leaders and members of the Hmong community including Mr. Wayne Thao Saykao, Chairman of the Hmong Committee of 100.

The discussion focused on strengthening Thai-US bilateral relations and highlighted the close ties between the Thai, Hmong, and American communities and opportunities for further collaboration in Minnesota. Furthermore, the Consul-General cordially invited the legislators to experience the traditional Thai New Year at the Minnesota Songkran Festival 2026, taking place at Wat Promwachirayan over the weekend on 16-17 May 2026.

Later in the day, the Consul-General and her delegation visited HmongTown Marketplace and the newly redeveloped Pan Asian Center. She met with entrepreneur Toua Xiong who explained his plans to create a shopping, dining, entertainment and event center covering more than 240,000 squared meters and they discussed commericial opportunities for Thai products and businesses.

In addition, during her trip to Minnesota, the Consul-General met with Thai students, lecturers and researchers at the University of Minnesota to learn about their academic experiences and well-being. She also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Consulate-General, Thai students and the Thai community in Minnesota.
