เมื่อวันที่ 2 สิงหาคม 2569 นางสาวบาจรีย์ พึ่งพักตร์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครชิคาโก ได้ร่วมงานบุญเนื่องในวันอาสาฬหบูชาและวันเข้าพรรษา ณ วัดพุทธธรรม เมือง Willowbrook รัฐอิลลินอย โดยร่วมทำบุญตักบาตร ถวายผ้าอาบน้ำฝนแด่พระสงฆ์ และร่วมพิธีเวียนเทียนกับพุทธศาสนิกชนและชุมชนไทยในพื้นที่ที่มาร่วมงานเป็นจำนวนมาก

กิจกรรมนี้สะท้อนถึงความร่วมมือของชุมชนไทยในการสืบสานพระพุทธศาสนาและประเพณีไทยในต่างแดน พร้อมเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันดีในหมู่ชุมชนไทยในนครชิคาโกและพื้นที่ใกล้เคียง

 

Consul-General of Thailand in Chicago Joins Merit-Making for Asalha Puja and Khao Phansa

On 2 August 2026, Consul-General Bacharee Puengpak joined a merit-making ceremony marking Asalha Puja Day and Khao Phansa (the beginning of Buddhist Lent) at Wat Buddha Damma in Willowbrook, Illinois. The Consul-General took part in offering alms to monks, presenting rain-bathing robes, and joining the candlelight procession, alongside a large gathering of Buddhists and members of the local Thai community.

The event reflects the Thai community's continued efforts to preserve Buddhism and Thai traditions abroad, while strengthening the bonds of friendship and unity among Thai communities in Chicago and the surrounding area.
